Mossend International Railfreight Park is a ‘once in a generation’ opportunity to revolutionise rail freight connections to and from Scotland. The development will create real and lasting benefits for Scotland’s economy, environment and communities.
The proposed joint-expansion by Peter D. Stirling Ltd (PDS) (family-owned operators and owners of Mossend Railhead) and Carnbroe Estates will create facilities that are not currently available elsewhere in Scotland.
PDS, founded in 1870, first purchased land at Mossend more than 30 years ago to establish the Mossend Railhead. The site currently provides a direct road to rail link to logistics users all over the UK and Continental Europe via the Channel Tunnel.
Carnbroe Estates owns a land holding of 95 hectares adjacent to the West Coast Main Line (WCML) and the current Mossend Railhead.
